We are a platform for a wide range of Conservative supporters, activists and commentators.

We want Britain to be a modern, welcoming place that rises to the challenges of today – the 21st century – without being an overly-bureaucratic state denying people their freedoms.

We don’t want a society where the government controls whether people can fulfil their dreams – we want to see anyone with an ambition get the support they need to work to fulfil it. People should have more control over their lives, their money, their destiny, because trusting people to run their own lives is how to build stronger people and a stronger society.

We believe that those progressive ends are best achieved by conservative means. Progress and reform to further the advancement of society and individuals are at the core of how today’s politicians need to respond to the changing world we live in. Conservatives care about the world they live in, about the people around them and about the society we share; this means that we refuse to abandon our fellow citizens, but instead want to support them in the choices they make and the ambitions they hold.

We don’t want a society where prejudice is allowed to override evidence. That means taking some tough decisions; but supporting people’s choices and helping them make the most of themselves and their communities is the only way to ensure that our shared future is safer, greener and more prosperous.

We want a society where politicians mean what they say and say what they mean. Mistrust in politicians is at an all-time high. We believe in holding politicians to account – but also that they should be judged as anyone else would be.

We want to make sure that anyone who wants to see a welcoming, greener, forward-looking and less arrogant government can support the Conservative Party. And the way to get the best out of that is to listen, to engage, to debate – and for people to take responsibility in making sure that our government does the right thing for our whole society.

You could sum this all up as ‘people first’. We’re not dreamy-eyed ideologues but we do believe that politics needs to change fundamentally. And that’s what we’ll be making the case for here.

Who we are

We’re a group of Conservatives who want to see a modern, liberal Conservative government. Platform 10 is not part of the Conservative Party, we’re independent. When we post our opinions, they are just that – our own opinions. We don’t always agree on everything, even amongst ourselves, but we want to listen to and participate in the debate.
